These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to your use of the SyncTranslate website and the SyncTranslate desktop application for macOS (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

• You must use the Service in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• The website currently does not require account registration for browsing.
• If account-based features are introduced later, you will be responsible for account security and activity.

3. Permitted Use

You may use SyncTranslate for lawful personal or business workflows, including live translation, transcription, and summarization of meetings and conversations.

4. Restrictions

• Do not use the Service for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive activity.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or compromise the Service infrastructure.
• Do not bypass technical, security, or access controls.
• You are responsible for obtaining legally required consent before recording or processing meeting audio.
• Do not submit content that infringes third-party rights.

5. User Content and Responsibility

• You retain ownership of your content (audio, transcripts, translations, summaries, and attachments).
• You are solely responsible for the legality, accuracy, and use of your content.
• Outputs from speech recognition, translation, and summarization may contain mistakes and require your review.

6. Third-Party Providers and Integrations

Certain features may connect to third-party AI providers or other external services if you enable them. Those providers are independent of SyncTranslate and are governed by their own terms, privacy policies, and retention practices.

7. Intellectual Property

• The Service, including software, branding, design, and documentation, is owned by SyncTranslate or its licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
• SyncTranslate may include open-source components. Their licenses apply to those components and remain in effect.
• Except where allowed by law or license, you may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service.

8. No Payment Terms at This Time

These Terms do not establish subscription or payment obligations at this time. If paid plans are introduced, related terms will be published separately or as an update to these Terms.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SyncTranslate and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business interruption arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SyncTranslate from claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights.

12. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if we reasonably believe your use violates these Terms, threatens security or stability, or creates legal risk.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after updates means you accept the revised Terms. We indicate changes by updating the "Last updated" date.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that may apply in your jurisdiction.
